Verdict:
The Renault Trucks T was retested this year to reflect the enhanced performance of the vehicle with new safety equipment. The rigid vehicle rating is derived from the tractor because the manufacturer verified very similar performance between different configurations. The Renault T retains its 4-star rating due largely to its high-quality Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), achieving balanced points across both Safe Driving and Collision Avoidance, most of which is standard fitment. It is limited in its direct vision performance compared to class leading competitors in the sector, although its recent addition of a camera monitor system benefits its overall Safe Driving score. The Renault T now features a cyclist turn across path function, further enhancing its 4-star score and earning it the CitySafe label, making the Renault T a great choice for both highway and city environments when specified with the correct optional equipment.
