Verdict:
The Mercedes-Benz Actros is available with many of the safety features that Euro NCAP consider beneficial to the safety of trucks. The Actros direct vision is good owing to the mid cab mounting height in regional distribution specification and the camera monitor system enhances the driver's rearward view. A range of high performing safe driving and crash avoidance safety technologies are available which can support the driver in reducing the risk of a collision. The direct and indirect vision, pedestrian and cyclist frontal AEB protection and nearside turn cyclist AEB system all enhance the safety performance in cities and earning the CitySafe award. The Actros also offers good support for the driver on motorways with good AEB and lane support suggesting that the Mercedes-Benz Actros is a safe choice for regional distribution operations.
