DAF XF
6x2 Rigid

Truck Safety 2025 – 3 stars
Verdict:

The DAF XF rigid rating is carried over from the previously rated XF tractor, DAF suggesting that the performance will be very similar regardless of chassis length and axle configuration. The DAF XF is a safe choice, performing well especially in the Safe Driving category helping to prevent collisions occurring in the first place. The truck excels with its direct vision, a low belt line contributing to the class leading vision, especially when coupled with the passenger side lower door vision window. Its indirect vision is also class leading with a camera monitor system that offers dynamic views and is particularly effective when fitted with the optional corner camera, replacing the class V/VI mirrors. This contributed to its CitySafe award. The ADAS score remains adequate, with other trucks offering better performance since the XF lacks the active steering support addressing lane departure collisions and the turn across path function to protect cyclists in cities. The DAF XF has more standard fit safety equipment than any other comparable vehicle making it a sound and safe choice in the long haul sector, especially for occasional city operations.
